Some good points there. Only one thing is wrong though. With stock trading you can get up to 10:1 leverage.

You are right with leverage being much higher on forex (this would be the only realistic way of trading with less than $500).

With forex you can get up to 500:1 leverage , but that is rarely used except with nano lot trading.

Most people trade with 200:1 or 100:1 leverage. Some professionals even go as low as 50:1

It really depends on your risk profile. the higher the leverage the higher the losses, but also higher profits. It is a double edged sword that should be used wisely.

On the other hand, did you know you can get forex rebates when you trade?
